HISI strengthens its position in the hospital sector by doubling the number of concessions and beds in Italy.

HISI, a platform of the ANIA F2i Fund, which specializes in public-private partnerships (PPPs), has finalized thepurchase of C2i (Concessioni Investimenti Infrastrutturali) from Infracapital, the infrastructure investment division of M&G Plc. A deal that allows it to strengthen its portfolio of concessions and consolidate its position in the hospital infrastructure sector in Italy

C2i holds a portfolio of stakes in companies that manage concessions in three hospitals located in northern and central Italy, providing essential nonhealth services to facilities such as Vimercate Hospital near Milan, Empoli Hospital, and Careggi University Hospital in northern Florence.
With this acquisition, HISI doubles its presence in the hospital concessions business, increasing the number of beds served from about 1,350 to 2,400. The new activities are in addition to those already acquired, including the management of non-medical services in hospitals such as the Nuovo Ospedale di Legnano in Lombardy, the Alba-Bra Hospital in Piedmont, and the Polo Ospedaliero di Este Monselice, in Veneto.

Paolo Soldani, CEO of HISI, commented, "HISI invests in infrastructure projects in the hospital sector in public-private partnerships, assuring the public administration the presence of a private partner of high standing and long term as the F2i funds. This transaction consolidates HISI's role in the hospital PPP chain and represents an important milestone in the company's strategy to position itself as a leading investor in the sector. The acquisition of C2i, through which HISI will now have a presence in four different Italian regions with approximately 2,400 beds, underscores our commitment to promoting growth and innovation in the hospital PPP sector, improving both operational efficiency and the delivery of essential public services."
